Your Health is for Life: ukactive announces the theme for National Fitness Day 2023

META-AGE AIMS to be the most notable feature for this year’s National Fitness Day. Our school’s challenge will have over 3,000 children participating in a mass online Super6 exercise class, and they will be supported by the likes of ‘Virgin Active’ and ‘Champneys Health Spa’ who will be running Meta-Age events in unison.

Movember and Endurance Zone will work with ukactive to promote National Fitness Day 2023, which will take place on September 20, with the theme “Your Health is for Life.”

The partners will work with ukactive to help the campaign reach more people and build on National Fitness Day’s image as the UK’s most active day of the year.

Millions of people in all kinds of places will be encouraged to be more active, and they will be able to try out thousands of free activities at gyms, swimming pools, recreation centres, sports clubs, workplaces, schools, and online.

This year’s theme, “Your Health is for Life,” encourages people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds to recognise and enjoy the physical and mental benefits of being active throughout their lifetime..

With the help of Movember and Endurance Zone, National Fitness Day will inspire millions to take their first step towards better health. This year’s campaign will look at health and wellbeing, focusing on mental health, nutrition and recovery, and physical exercise.

There has never been more proof that moving our bodies is essential for our mental and physical health. Today, physical exercise is helping millions of people in the UK fight cancer, type 2 diabetes, skeletal and muscular pain, depression, anxiety, and many other health problems.

Sport England’s latest Active Lives Survey shows that, despite this, more than a quarter of the people in England are considered idle because they get less than 30 minutes of exercise a week on average.

Movember, a charity for men’s health, will be the mental health partner for National Fitness Day. It will show how important it is to care for our health and highlight how physical exercise helps build mental strength and resilience.

Endurance Zone, the world’s most prominent sports reward platform, has been chosen as the 2023 campaign’s physical exercise partner. The partnership will incentivise users to be more active by rewarding them for physical exercise. This will help get more people to be more active.

It works through a simple app that takes advantage of the growing popularity of fitness trackers by turning exercise into points that can be used to enter contests and win health and fitness goods. On top of that, the app will have special deals from top sports brands that will save people money as they get fit.

In 2022, about 11 million people participated in National Fitness Day, including more than 4 million children and young people. The effort reached over 50 million people through social media, TV, radio, and the press.

The CEO of ukactive, Huw Edwards, said, “The message behind National Fitness Day has never been more important for the physical and mental health of the nation, so we are thrilled to have Movember and Endurance Zone as our campaign partners this year.

Your health is for life, so we want the benefits of National Fitness Day to last far beyond our big day and for everyone to enjoy the fun and feel the power of exercise all year long. Because there is no one-size-fits-all solution, ukactive’s members will host many free events where people can try something new and take the first step towards a healthier, happy life.

Movember’s Head of New Partnerships for the UK and Europe, Lewis Jones, said, “We are thrilled to be partnering with National Fitness Day this year to help spread the word about how important physical activity is, not only for your physical health but also for your mental health.”

Endurance Zone’s CEO and founder, David Birch, said, “We know from experience that the possibility of a prize makes people more likely to do good things, whether it’s how exercise makes us feel or a treat when we hit a fitness goal. Rewards are a big part of what keeps people moving, so we made the National Fitness Day app even more fun and rewarding.”

“We are delighted that our knowledge of how people think about benefits fits with ukactive’s goal of getting people more active. We can’t wait to get people from all walks of life involved, reward them, and encourage them on their health journeys.”

Meta-Age are the new kids on the block, but we will make the loudest noise. Watch this space.
